This blog is designed to shed light on stories relating to peace and nonviolence throughout the world. It has become a cliché that peace is not news while media consumers are treated each day to a smörgåsbord of death, destruction, and despair whenever they pick up a newspaper or browse the Internet. Although these stories are necessary, they reveal only some of the picture. The majority of humanity generally avoids violence, and there are a bright few who actively oppose it. This bright few should receive the same attention (if not more) as bloody warlords, standing armies, and warrior states seeking only to empower themselves or their sponsors by inflicting pain and death on others. Yet peacemaking, like warmaking, is a collaborative process that involves many stakeholders. This blog will also focus on the many organizations working locally, nationally, and internationally for peace and justice.
